Stephen worked with the Maintenance Lead Team at Drax Power Ltd for about 16 months. He constructively challenged the way we delivered our service and coached our general ways of working (and thinking).
Stephen helped us to develop our visual management centre to help us to better understand our Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People performance and operational impacts and to enable us to make more timely and accurate business decisions. He helped us to see how we could develop this into layers to give us “line of sight” from Management, through Sections, to Team level.
Stephen has helped us to think and plan more strategically and tactically to drive our long-term improvement journey.
He also helped us to create a simple but effective problem-solving structure (PPS) to enable us to identify and solve our own delivery problems, as well as process application and stakeholder engagement issues.
We are also making good use of simple but effective Quick Changeover techniques to greatly reduce our turn-around time on repeat activities such as Dome Outages, refurbishments and VSD installations.
With these and other techniques, we are gaining long-term performance improvement.
